The Lemonade Stand

Madison has asked to do a lemonade stand several times. As the mom, I could imagine my time and her effort better spent. But this summer, I caved. She and her friend Sara pleaded until I couldn't resist. So we purchased the supplies, made a sign and set up their table at the top of our street. I left them in charge (although their big brother helped) and wished them good luck. I thought they'd be lucky to sale 3 cups. So imagine my surprised when they kept calling for more lemonade. They ended up with $40! And then they tell me that they want to donate it all to a charity. Notice how they changed the sign to read "money goes to a charity." These girls melted my heart right then and there. They've decided to send it to a children's hospital. Aren't these girl amazing?

Baseball Champion

Brayden had the opportunity to play on a very talented baseball team this year. We knew they had a good chance of winning the championship. Yet, many of the other teams were also incredible. The last few games were real nail-biters but the Dodgers' managed to win the game 4-3. The team worked together so well.

One of Brayden's shining moments is when the other team was batting. One of the boys hit a ball that was going far. Their crowd went wild. Brayden was in the outfield and stopped the fast, high ball with his mitt. It was a breathtaking move.

It was a very happy ending to the season.

McConkie Ranch

My brother Brett and his wife Jess came to Vernal a couple of weekends ago. We joined them for a hike through the petroglyphs at McConkie Ranch. The hike was really fun and I enjoyed packing my niece Eliza. She is adorable.

Baby Coons

Uncle Preston and his wife Heather have baby racoons their aunt found in a cabin near Deep Creek. They surprised us one night by bring them over to show us. They were adorable. Their little paws look like little human hands and they would actually hold onto their baby bottles. I doubt my kids will ever forget their experience with baby racoons.

Coon Reunion

Our first camping trip of the summer was at the Range Study for the Coon Reunion. The weather was first very windy and then rainy...but we managed to still have fun. Tyler's cousin from Seattle roasted a variety of meat on sticks for one meal. It was very intriguing and delicious. We also went to the dam to watch the jets shoot out water into the Green River. We enjoyed being with our extended family and can't wait to do it again next year.

Spencer Turns Seven

Spencer was elated to turn 7 on June 2. We celebrated with a pool party with all his friends in the backyard. Later in the evening, we had a birthday dinner on the patio and allowed him to open his BIG gift...a skateboard and helmet. He was so HAPPY to receive the gift and immediately set out to learn how to skateboard.

On the 6th, we celebrated with all our family at Naples Park. Spencer's favorite cousin is only 5 days younger than him, so we always celebrate together. We had fun although the wind that night was torturous.

Spencer is a very special little guy, even if he isn't very little anymore. He has made so much progress this past year academically and emotionally. He always puts forth his best effort to accomplish a challenge.

Brayden Finishes Elementary School

Brayden is no longer an elementary student. At Naples Elementary, the 5th grade students are taught juggling and then put on a performance for the parents. It was amazing. Those teachers have so much enthusiasm! Brayden even tried to teach Tyler how to juggle.

The 5th Graders also always create a fish at the end of the year. Brayden went for the Rainbow Trout look. I was impressed with his artsy abilities.

He can't wait to start Middle School.....he is very, very eager.

#1

We just got back from Brayden's final game. His team is #1 in his league, losing only one game of the whole season. Now it's time for the tournament....
