Some Really, Really Good News!

Well, if any of you know me well at all, you know that I have needed to take the math section of the ACT to improve my score in order to apply for the Elementary Education program here at USU. I have really procrastinated at it....because I really, really hate math. I mean really hate it.

Well, I'm hoping to start the program this fall and so I really waited until the last minute to take the test. I became very best friends with this yellow book during the month of January. I sweated bullets, I made flash cards and I re-memorized the pythagrean theory, the distance formula and the formula for finding the total surface area of a cylinder.

I took the test on January 22. It went really well, at first. I was cruising along, thinking 'wow, I actually know how to complete these problems,' when the TA announced that we only had five minutes left. I was on problem 32 out of 60. I was devastated. So I quickly guessed during the last half of the test and breathed a sigh of relief that it was finally over.

Today, I found out that I scored an 18. I need an 18 to get into the program. I DID IT! I can't even tell you how incredibly happy I feel. How accomplished and relieved and happy and did I mention happy?

Miracles can happen. We can accomplish the impossible when deep down we don't believe in ourselves. I witnessed today that God is real. And he believes in me. And he heard my frantic prayers on January 22. I know, without a doubt, that it was because of him that I passed this impossible test.

I am so excited to start the program. And I know that by September 2012, I'll have a classroom of my own.

Congrats! I think we should celebrate! I am so proud of you! I personally know how intimidating any test feels when you have been a busy mom for the last few years. You have set a priceless example for your children about faith, commitment, goals, and achieving their dreams. Hooray!!!
